- A four-year college degree is required; a science major preferred

SUMMARY
Vernier’s ultimate goal is to partner with educators to help create a STEM-literate society. We know our products, when used by trained educators, help students understand science and mathematics and acquire much needed skills and knowledge necessary for postsecondary success. With this goal in mind, Vernier has put together a solution we call the Vernier STEM Classroom, which combines hardware, software, professional development, technical support, and curricular materials to address pain points and support student success. District adoptions of this solution and the mitigation of the pain points that are affecting school districts are the focus of the science technology solution consultant.
The Science Technology Solution Consultant initiates and manages relationships with district customers one-to-one. They serve as the key point of contact and oversee account management from initial outreach or marketing-generated leads through the adoption and use of the technology. This consultative sales professional will provide district leaders with the following:
- Guidance and direction regarding the solutions to solve educational challenges
- Information about what’s new at Vernier
- Post-sales services such as technical support, setting up professional development services, and warranty help
This position is focused on building relationships and following leads, customizing solutions, demonstrating value, driving adoption of the Vernier STEM Classroom, and providing ongoing support to schools and districts. While they will be an individual contributor, they will work closely with and be supported by marketing team members, the partnership development team, and our expert technical support team.
This position reports directly to the chief marketing officer, who will assign and discuss goals and territories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work with Marketing Leadership to develop and implement a territory action plan, adjusting plans according to interactions and results with prospects and customers.
- Understand and implement consultative sales principles and methods.
- Develop and manage a robust pipeline of self-generated and marketing-generated opportunities.
- Nurture warm leads and work to convert those leads into opportunities.
- Grow Vernier's footprint within the existing customer base.
- Conduct solution demonstrations in person, at events, and virtually.
- Work post-sale to ensure a smooth solution implementation.
- Conduct discovery around professional learning needs and coordinate the appropriate training.
- Monitor and take action to grow user adoption.
- Requires up to 50 percent travel within the designated territory.
- Provides stellar customer service by maintaining professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance in accordance with scheduled work hours.
- Works independently under limited supervision. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent written and oral communication is essential since this position relies heavily on the ability to communicate effectively. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals.

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of calculus, algebra, and statistics.
