Senior Systems Engineer – Managed Endpoint Security

The University of Vermont (UVM) is looking for a mid-to-senior level System Engineer to join our Endpoint Management team. This is an exciting opportunity for growth and development, working with the latest client platform and virtualization technologies, supporting security-focused initiatives in a fast-paced 24x7 production data center environment.

The initial focus of this position will be helping design and deploy Secure Enclave virtual environments following industry standards like NIST 800-171 in support of our growing research initiatives. Skills with VDI, managed Windows endpoints, advanced logging and alerting are all desirable for the success of our project.

As a crucial member of the Endpoint Management Team within the Systems Architecture & Administration department, you'll work collaboratively to configure and maintain a secure environment for hundreds of virtual Windows clients that support all aspects of computing at UVM, including research, academic, and administrative functions. In this role, you'll utilize your automation skills to create scripts that manage and monitor services, ensuring consistent configuration across services and thousands of users. You'll also play a key role in system tuning, troubleshooting, capacity planning, business continuity, and system documentation, backed by a team of skilled systems engineers to ensure smooth operations. With your attention to detail and good judgment, you'll make sure that any changes to the computing environment are carefully planned to reduce negative impacts for our users.

We are looking for the right person to join our team and are willing to hire at a mid-career or senior level, with a salary commensurate to experience. If you are ready to take your career to the next level, apply for this exciting opportunity as an endpoint Systems Engineer today!
