The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for a Windows Server System Administrator for the Office of OneIt. The Office of OneIT provides highly reliable information technology infrastructure, tools, and services to empower the University to achieve its academic, research, administrative, and service goals.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years of relevant experience; or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Experience managing and maintaining a Windows server infrastructure environment. Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services. Experience using advanced PowerShell in an enterprise environment.

Essential Job Duties: The primary role of the Windows Server System Administrator on the OneIT Servers and Storage Team is to configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot issues related to Windows Server operating systems.

  • Managing and maintaining a Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Designing, implementing, and managing a multi-site Active Directory environment.
  • Managing and maintaining systems using advanced PowerShell scripting.
  • Designing, implementing, and managing Group Policy.
  • An understanding of security best practices.
  • Assist with the management of multiple on-prem data centers.
