JOB SUMMARY

The UConn School of Business is seeking a temporary full-time position with the possibility of extension to coordinate logistics and assist with the administration of two graduate programs within the School of Business, the MS in Accounting, an established online program, and the new MS in Social Responsibility & Impact in Business (MSSRIB), flex program with in-person and online courses.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for providing multiple high touch points throughout a student’s journey in the following areas:

  • Engage with prospective candidates through the various stages of the inquiry and application process.
  • Deliver and support information sessions.
  • Provide admissions counseling, advising, and support to prospective students.
  • Oversee the admissions process, and, coordinate with the admissions committee, and process decision recommendations.
  • Assist with tracking and organizing admissions and enrollment data.
  • Assist with design, updates, upkeep, and maintenance of program communication hubs, interactive onboarding sites, and orientation for incoming and current students.
  • Oversee admitted student progress, track onboarding, and provide outreach as needed.
  • Provide support to new and current students with program requirements, graduation process, and various Graduate School policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and assist with day-to-day programmatic functions including, but not limited to, responding to questions from students, faculty, and staff, event planning, course registration, course scheduling support, student and special payroll hiring, scholarships, mailings, and rewards programs.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and experience with technology and data processing and management.
  • Ability to engage with individuals from diverse cultural, social, and educational backgrounds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time temporary position with a schedule of 40 hours per week for an initial period of six months, with the possibility of extension dependent upon department needs and available funding. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required in support of program activities. The position will require work both at the Storrs and Hartford campuses, and some remote work may be possible.
