Clinical Biomechanist: Conduct and design research studies focused on the prevention and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries, and data processing and analysis for studies; perform data collection through operation of the motion capture system and related review and analysis; develop protocols to address movement deficiencies, and research test designs; perform movement screenings using the motion capture system to identify faulty body mechanisms leading to injury, and present test results to coaches, sports medicine professionals, and families; analyze motion capture findings to create courses of treatment and design injury reduction programs for athletes; perform subject testing on the Biodex, Diagnostic Ultrasounds, and other equipment, and interpret test results; ensure data collection is consistent with tests and fits the parameters of the studies; ensure collected data is defined and accurate to assure the integrity of findings, and provide targets for improvement; and work in conjunction with Director, Sports Medicine Research to implement motion capture lab protocols and processes across the Texas Health Sports Medicine system.
Qualifications
Education Requirements: Master's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Human Movement Science, or a closely related field.
Work Experience Requirements: Two (2) years of professional work experience with motion capture system operation.
Alternative Requirements: Ph.D. degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Human Movement Science, or a closely related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
