Since our humble beginnings, we’ve opened numerous Rib & Chop House restaurants across the US, and we hope to continue with our fortunate success. We look forward to sharing a little “Rocky Mountain Hospitality” with you! About Rio Sabinas - From the Beginning A 20 year restaurant veteran from San Antonio, Texas made his way to Big Sky Country. His love for Mexican and Southwestern foods allowed him to create a menu and a concept that was unlike anything Montana had ever experienced. The first Rio Sabina's restaurant opened in Belgrade, Montana. The restaurant was named after a favorite sportsmen river, the 555 mile Sabine River, which runs along the border between Texas and Louisiana and empties into the Gulf of Mexico. The Sabine River gets its name from the Spanish word “sabinas” which means cypress…the very tree that lines the banks of both sides of this lovely river. —Burke and Melissa Moran, founders
