OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY SPECIALIST
Occupational Safety Specialist Fort Worth, TX: Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. Conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals. Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards to protect the employees, customers and the environment. Identify potentially hazardous biological, chemical and radiological materials. Recommend changes to protect workers and educate employees on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs. Ensure the development, implementation and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans including: Hazard Communication Program, Exposure Control Program (Bloodborne Pathogens, TB) Hazard Assessment and Personal Protective Equipment Program (PPE) Respiratory Hazard Communication Program, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry Program, Fall Protection, and Emergency Action Plan. Conduct periodic safety and health walk-through inspections of all workplace facilities. Provide safety trainings and meetings in Spanish language as well to have a better interaction with employees and make sure safety messages are well understood. Require a Bachelor of Science Degree in Risk Management and Safety, or foreign equivalent, plus at least 2 years work experience as an Occupational Safety professional.
