Hospital Assistance Program has an immediate opening for a Human Services/Hospital Interviewer position. Experience in general office administration and strong work ethic a must.
This is a full-time position with benefits including: paid time off, health, dental and life insurance (retirement plan)
- Interview hospitalized individuals to screen them for appropriate medical coverage.
- Complete appropriate applications and obtain signatures on all documents and collect supporting documents needed to file applications for Medicaid, PIP, COBRA, Crime Victims, or other insurance.
- Provide all documents to case workers to file applications.
- Maintain current and accurate notes in office program.
- Identify accounts appropriate for Special Handling and open files
- Call individuals that have been discharged from hospital to screen for appropriate medical coverage
- Meet with individuals in the office or by phone to complete appropriate applications.
- Keep daily log of number of applications completed & number of intro calls made.
- Report to hospital on new intros by sending appropriate form letter the same day the file is referred.
- Meet daily with HAP staff to discuss all referrals received and give status.
- Maintain intro case files including close and refer back as deemed appropriate by case managers and in line with procedures including contacting all last chance intros in accordance with set procedures.
- Courier correspondence to and from hospital daily, checking mail box at hospital for medical records, IDs, etc
Requirements:
- Possess excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented.
- Basic math and analytical skills.
- Outstanding communication skills: in person, over the phone and via written word.
- Must be self-motivated and professional with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to type 50 plus word per minute.
- Regular attendance and careful regard to punctuality.
- Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Willing to learn and retain knowledge required to achieve your daily duties.
- Willingness and ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
