Job Description and Duties
As an employee of the facility Level of Care Registry, a Psychiatric Technician (S) may be requested to work on any shift, any day of the week and on any residence at the Developmental Center. Under the direction supervisory staff, the PT (S) provides direct care, treatment and developmental services for the clients where assigned. The services provided fall within the scope of the job as specified by the California State Personnel Board.
Follow safe practices, and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment which ensures respect, dignity and protects privacy rights, confidentiality and physical/emotional well-being of all individuals. Must be able to work overtime and various shifts as well as float to other worksites.

This is a limited-term position that may be extended.
On August 5, 2021, State of California, Health and Human Services Agency State Public Health Officer Order (Order) mandated that all workers who provide services or work in Health Care facilities listed in the Order have their first dose of a one-dose COVID-19 vaccine regimen or their second dose of a two-dose regimen by September 30, 2021.
Working Conditions
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Ongoing interaction with clients, personnel, and the general public. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement.
Essential functions: Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance; must be able to participate in client containment, intervention or restraint. Must have the ability to work extended hours and various shifts; must float to all work areas within the facility if called upon to do so.
