What YOU Will Do…
You will assist with various polymeric materials development activities. The activities may include new material development, process development and demonstration, characterization, and part fabrication with a variety of thermoset polymers. Initial focus will include, but not be limited to, polyurethanes and polyureas. You may be involved with condensation polymer processing with plural component meter, mix, and dispense equipment, as well as addition polymer processing (both free radical and cationic) in an additive manufacturing process.
What YOU Need to be Successful…
Non-tenure track faculty rank will be commensurate with education level and experience. Minimum requirements include a Master`s degree (PhD preferred) in Polymer Science or Mechanical Engineering plus 10 years of related experience
Preferred experience:
• Thermoset elastomer development
Required experience/skills:
• New material development, process development and demonstration, characterization, and part fabrication with a variety of thermoset polymers
• Working knowledge of a wide range of materials characterization techniques, including mechanical property testing, dynamic mechanical analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, and chemical analysis
• Working knowledge of polymer structure-property relationships and the ability to produce new thermoset materials with specific properties You will be subject to a government security investigation and you must be a U.S. citizen to apply.
