General Purpose
Duties include responsibility for safely and efficiently diagnosing and performing maintenance repairs on all heavy equipment used in a surface coal mining operation.
Responsibilities
Equipment may include:
- Caterpillar equipment (loaders, scrapers, track dozers, rubber-tired dozers, graders, haul trucks);
- LeTourneau loader, Hitachi backhoe; Marion draglines;
- conveyor and crushing systems;
- drills (Ingersoll Rand, DrilTech, Schroeder).
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED or proof of equivalent.
- A minimum of three years of industrial equipment journeyman mechanical experience, or a combination of experience and education.
- Experience with Cummins and/or Caterpillar engines associated with surface coal mining equipment (see above) is preferred.
- Must successfully pass a written test.
- Must provide own tools
