IT Telecom Analyst III

Analyzes, installs, configures, maintains, and repairs telephony infrastructure and application components. Performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure the telephony performance meets NSU requirements. Provides direction, information, and recommendations regarding telecom configurations and installations.
- Responds and troubleshoots any alerts from the NSU monitoring system.
2. Troubleshoots and provides fault isolation for NSU remote locations.
3. Configures and troubleshoots NSU telephony infrastructure.
4. Implements approved architecture, deploys new and/or expanded telecom systems.
5. Configures, operates, and maintains the NSU telecom systems.
6. Performs regular maintenance on telecom devices, including but not limited to running system backups, reviewing logs, and upgrading OSs.
7. Maintains documentation on all routing policies, procedures, and configurations.
8. Provides support, participates, and leads many telephony projects and tasks performed by the telecom operations team; coordinates with the IT architecture and engineering groups to help ensure alignment with business initiatives while adhering to NSU guidelines and leading industry practices.
9. Provides 2nd and 3rd level incident support; diagnostics and corrective actions; implementation and 3rd party engagement and coordination; vulnerability management; physical break fix; and on-call coverage.
10. Provides postmortems for incidents; provides timely incident reporting to NSU; creates and maintains the known errors and resolutions registry to reduce repair times; tracks, updates and closes action items; provides statistical data pertaining to short term incidents and chronic telecom problems.
11. Completes special projects as assigned.
12. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Special Requirement: Available on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using a rotation schedule.
