Responsible for planning, designing, and driving continuous improvement of the manufacturing process in the industrial plant; maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization; determine parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification; perform a major role in troubleshooting process issues, root causing product defects, and implementing corrective actions; coordinate and implement changes suggested by Launch or Product Engineers; focus on technology including PLCs, robots, and welding; responsible for secondary equipment, including welding, clipping, and wrapping; utilize MS Project, Minitab, APQP, Catia, Prolink, GD&T, PPAP, PFMEA, and automotive thermoforming to perform duties; evaluate impact of and subsequently implement engineering changes on the Headliner manufacturing processes, machinery and equipment as required by the client and/or internally; coordinate the incorporation of Engineering Changes; evaluate the performance of Headliner equipment and Headliner manufacturing processes in the launching stages; identify and provide the needs of tools and/or fixtures in their assigned areas or processes; elaborate on documentation, including PMFEA and process flow diagrams; responsible for the PFMEA and reduction of RPNs, and register in the document control system; implement Poka-Yoke systems in production processes for Headliners; identify and develop cost reduction projects; design and implement new manufacturing processes for Headliners; design and value new machinery and equipment in accordance with IAC standards; identify areas of opportunity for the improvement of the processes and the product; and ask as member of Quality Circles for follow-up on manufacturing actions.
