Job Description
The Health and Safety Manager oversees industrial hygiene, occupational health, and safety programs for the Environmental Health and Safety Department. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement, review, and evaluate related programs, plans, and procedures pertaining to industrial hygiene, occupational health, and safety
- Take a leadership role in fostering a positive culture of safety
- Develop and administer training programs for occupational health, safety and industrial hygiene
- Prepare professional reports with findings and corrective actions
- Utilize continuous improvement principles in all EHS responsibilities
- Cultivate a positive culture of safety by role modeling safe behavior and a demonstrated commitment to safety
- Respond to off-hours emergencies
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science or a relevant field
- Industrial hygiene experience
- At least 3 years of experience in environmental health and safety
- Ability to wear an air purifying respirator, with or without accommodation
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain a valid driver's license by start date
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in science or a relevant field and/or EHS professional certification
- Prior experience with environmental health and safety in a college or university setting
- Possession of Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential, by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene

This position will remain open until it is filled; however, priority consideration will be given to applications received prior to May 1, 2022. Salary will be between $60,000 and $68,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
