Technical Sales Representative
The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for the marketing and sales of Grain Processing Corporation products assigned to the paper and packaging Industrial Sales group.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Marketing and sale of products assigned to the paper and packaging group
- Report on customer activities including new applications, industry developments, and market trends
- Report all competitive activity, such a pricing, new products, policy, or quality
- Maintains up-to-date sales records in SalesLogix
- Conducts market surveys and other special assignments
- Initiates and maintains personal, phone and written contracts with customer and makes the sale
- Cultivates accounts by maintaining close business relationships with Procurement, Product Development, Production, Research, Marketing, and other partners who influence purchasing decisions
- Plans territorial coverage and sales calls to maximize efficient use of time
- Develops and maintains contracts necessary to general customer and competitive intelligence
- Identifies key accounts, both current and potential, in territory and develops strategy to maintain and build business at these accounts
- Maintains memberships and participates in trade association activities
- Develop and maintain a high degree of product and market knowledge

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a relative field of study required
- Ability to work and perform within the framework of the Company’s long term objectives
- Instinctive feel for markets and ability to relate to the needs of the same
- Demonstrated ability to isolate problems into proper perspective
- Honest, with a high degree of personal integrity and strong ethical business values

EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum three years of technical or specialty sales experience
- Experience with wet milling or related starch industry desired
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office Environment, may be exposed to a production environment when making sales calls, customer visits, and will need to abide by site PPE protocol.
TRAVEL: Extensive travel required (75%+)
