Purpose of job and results to be accomplished
Lead sales efforts for a team of Portfolio account executives and Digital Specialists within a specific geographic area. Responsible for leading this team in revenue generation from local SMBs thru multi-media platforms – including print, digital and direct marketing. Role will involve strategic planning, mentoring and developing, departmental leadership and staff supervision.
Essential Job Functions

- Meet or exceed all team sales goals as well as lead Porfolio account executives and Digital Specialists in meeting or exceeding their individual goals.
- Grow total revenue, digital revenue and direct marketing revenue within your sales team.
- Cultivate and maintain a digital first sales focus within your sales team daily.
- Expect and promote the use of SalesTouch with all account executives utilizing day-to-day sales functions, diagnosis calls and presentations/proposals.
- Identify revenue opportunities for your team and individual territories and strategically plan ways to maximize those opportunities.
- Work with Targeted Publications Manager to grow Direct Marketing revenue for your sales teams.
- Active in all negotiated rates and off rate card proposals for all account executives and specialists on your team.
- Review competitive media within your geographic sales area and category.
- Lead and promote sales in community weekly(s) in your geographic sales area for both your sales team and the advertising division, including special sections.
- Work with sales team on revenue strategy and target accounts plans
- Active in issue resolutions involving your team.
- Responsible for sales executive performance including implementing performance improvement plans and performance reviews
- Approve adjustments, contracts, rate authorizations, and commission reports for your sales team.
- Provide an accurate revenue flash for team and individuals monthly and quarterly as needed by Local Multimedia Sales Director and/or Vice-President/ Advertising.
- Recruit, interview, hire and train account executives and specialists as needed for open positions within your team, with Local Multimedia Sales Director approval.

Minimum Desired Qualifications
Education: College degree or equivalent in experience
Experience: 5+ years
Type of experience: Advertising/Marketing/Business; sales management a plus
Special requirements or skills: Strong attention to detail, ability for direct selling, analysis prospecting, communication, presentation, and persuasion skills. Computer skills, Power Point and Excel. Needs auto and proper insurance.
