Research Specialist I - Public Health and Social Work - 531881

Job Summary:

Provides support to multiple research studies and perform duties such as conducting neuropsychological evaluations, clinical trial assessments, and overseeing the operations of several ongoing research projects. Assist with recruitment and retention efforts and the collection and handling biospecimen samples. Must demonstrate an exceptional level of professionalism and approachability with staff and study participants. Possess practical knowledge and comfortability working with populations such as the LBGTQA+ community, those living with HIV and/or other sexually transmitted infections, persons with substance use disorders, and minoritized communities.

  • Assists with the development of complex research projects and executes in line with protocol plan.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge on study execution detail and skill-based knowledge, including administration, scoring, standardization of study activities.
  • Assists in the coordination and execution of recruitment-based activities to ensure enrollment targets are continuously met for various projects.
  • Conducts study visits including obtaining informed consent, administering study measures such as questionnaires and surveys, conducts study interventions and neuropsychological assessments, and collects biospecimen samples (e.g., blood, urine, fecal samples, etc).
  • Coordinates routine activities of various clinical trials including screening, scheduling, and payment.
  • Performs data entry and conducts quality control checks of data collected to data entered for assurance purposes.
  • Continuously evaluates research plans, identifies problems and provides recommended solutions.
  • Abides by all Good Clinical Practice (GCP), institutional and governing regulatory committees.
  • Assists senior staff with preparation of study reports, presentations and manuscriptions.
  • May supervise student interns.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialization and four (4) years of experience or Master's degree and two (2) years of experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of research ethics and Institutional Review Board (IRB) results and policies.
  • Practical knowledge of neuropsychological and psychometric testing and assessments.
  • Skills with interacting with people with mental health disorders, including depression and cognitive impairment.

Salary:  $55,000 - $60,000
