Associate Vice President for Advancement & Executive Director, Ferris Foundation
The Associate Vice President for Advancement & Executive Director, Ferris Foundation at Ferris State University reports to the Vice President for University Advancement and Marketing and collaborates with the VP to provide the vision, leadership, and management for the overall fundraising program for the University and to increase overall private support.
Keys to success in this role will be: the ability to build a cohesive, high performing advancement team capable of successfully completing a comprehensive campaign; grow the donor base in depth and breadth; cultivate and solicit principal and leadership gifts; and establish a culture of donor service excellence throughout the University.
Required: More than 7 years of progressively responsible and relevant fundraising experience at a university or comparable non-profit organization; demonstrated experience managing effective teams, engaging constituencies and working with volunteers; track record of organizing successful fundraising programs and in soliciting and closing major gifts using a well-disciplined moves management program; leadership in comprehensive campaigns; knowledge and/or experience in all areas of advancement, including annual giving, major gifts, planned gifts, corporate and foundation relations, athletics giving, research and prospect management, stewardship and donor relations and advancement services, plus Bachelor’s degree.
