Executive Assistant to President

 

Position provides complex administrative support to the office of the President of Davidson College, including management of the president's calendar, correspondence, travel arrangements, support for meetings with staff, donors, alumni, and other constituents of the college, and event planning. Serves as front-line welcoming presence and representative of the college and President to all visitors. Functions as the administrator to the Board of Trustees. This position is part of a team which supports the President of the college in fulfillment of his duties. Close coordination, communication and teamwork with the other members of this group are a critical dimension of the job. Key working relationships include the Special Assistant to the President, the General Counsel, the AVP for Campus & Community Relations, and the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer.

 

Bachelor's degree and at least four years of relevant experience as an Executive Assistant to a Senior Executive in an academic, corporate, or large non-profit organization (extensive experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree). At least three years of experience with event planning and travel arrangements. Proven ability to perform complex office tasks involving the use of independent judgement and personal initiative.

 

Requires advanced skills in Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point and intermediate skills with Access; ability to operate all standard office equipment; empathy and excellent interpersonal skills; dexterity with spoken and written communications; demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion; good organizational skills and high attention to detail; and patience and good humor.
