Legal Assistant, Secretary
Law office in Fort Worth seeks legal asst/secretary-civil litigation-state and federal. Experience required. M-F. Will consider less than 8 hours per day, but not less than 5.
Responsibilities for Legal Assistant •Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation •Transcription •Good typing skills •Prepare correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings •Assist with preparation of reports, case file management and organization •Communicate with courts, clients and witnesses• Schedule meetings, interviews and depositions• Organize and maintain documents in paper and in electronic filing formats• electronic filing of documents with courts• general admin assistance, including assist with maintaining calendar and making travel arrangements
Qualifications for Legal Assistant •High school diploma required •1-5 years experience in a law firm, preferably with emphasis on litigation and appeals as legal secretary/assistant• Punctual, dependable, highly organized, detailed-oriented •Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor• Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and of WordPerfect Ability to work independently, manage workload details, meet deadlines.
