Under direction of the Assistant City Manager, performs various duties supporting municipal operations as prescribed by Charter, ordinances, state and federal laws.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The Management Analyst will take a lead role in managing environmental programs  to include planning, coordinating, and implementing community events such as the annual trinity Trash Bash event and electronic waste/document-shredding events, the adopt-a-mile program, managing the City’s waste hauler and household hazardous waste contracts, creating enhanced public education tools on recycling and other environmental opportunities, and acting as liaison/contact for the Keep Texas Beautiful program and other environmental education organizations.

Other duties include overseeing Senior Center staff and internal annual employee event(s), serving in a support role to Code Enforcement staff by fielding complaints and questions, providing lunch/vacation coverage for the building permitting staff, acting as the City liaison with utility providers, research and analysis of codes, ordinances and legislative updates, and assisting other departments in the development of special projects/events/initiatives, surveys, and/or grant research/writing, as assigned.   

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Performs in a team setting and in a support capacity to the City’s managerial team by performing research and analysis, coordinating public engagement and marketing efforts to include special projects and events, managing website and social media content and responses, managing environmental programs including contract management, and assisting in other City projects and programs, as assigned.  

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Highly-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines and budget constraints, and working well with a variety of stakeholders. Experience and proficiency in community event planning, volunteer coordination, contract/project management, and experience in communications/marketing. 

Excellent written and oral communication skills required, and the ability to research, compile, summarize informational and statistical data into comprehensive reports.

Must possess the ability to work autonomously and with a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail.  Must possess proficiency in common software programs including MS Word/Excel/Adobe, and in common office equipment such as computers and printers, etc.  Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, Outlook, and Microsoft Access desirable.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration or a closely-related field with at least two years progressive local government experience.   Master of Public Administration degree preferred.

Salary Range: $64,399 to $86,301 annually.
