Community Development Intern - Part Time
Classification Summary:
Under the general direction of the Assistant City Manager, the principle function of the Part-Time Community Development Intern is to perform administrative tasks, special projects, and assignments for the Community Development Department.
Essential Functions:
Provide support to staff in the Community Development Department, with a primary focus on the digitization of historical case files and other documents. Assist with preparation of notifications and staff reports associated with current development applications. Assist with distribution and tracking of development applications. Research various planning and zoning issues including comprehensive planning, transportation, economic development, and design standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proficient with various computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, ArcGIS, and internet applications. Enrollment in a degree program in city planning, public administration, urban affairs, or related field preferred.
Special Requirements:
Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening and possess valid Class C Driver’s license with good driving record.
Work Hours:
20 hours/week during regular City Hall hours.
Schedule flexibility available.
Salary: $15.00/hour (No benefits)
